Olive wood
Regular Cleaning
Wipe your olive wood pieces with a soft, dry cloth after each use. This helps prevent the buildup of dirt and residue. For a more thorough cleaning, use a damp cloth with lukewarm water and mild soap. Avoid harsh detergents, as they may damage the wood.
Avoid Prolonged Immersion and Dry Immediately
Avoid leaving olive wood items soaking in water. Prolonged exposure to water can cause the wood to swell and crack. After cleaning, make sure to dry the wood immediately with a soft, dry cloth.
Protective Oil
As soon as the wood starts to look a little dull, regularly apply a thin layer of olive oil or food-grade mineral oil to nourish the wood and preserve its natural shine. This is particularly recommended for kitchen utensils.
After applying the oil, allow it to penetrate the wood for a few hours or overnight. Wipe off any excess oil with a clean cloth.
Ceramic
Hand Wash
Hand wash your ceramic pieces with lukewarm water and mild soap. Avoid harsh detergents, as they can damage the glaze and ceramic surface. Do not use abrasive sponges or steel wool. Do not put ceramic items in the dishwasher.
Air Dry
Allow your ceramic pieces to air dry after cleaning. Avoid using a kitchen towel, as it may leave behind residue or lint.
Avoid Thermal Shock
Do not place your ceramic pieces in the microwave or oven, or expose them to sudden changes in temperature, as this may cause the ceramic to crack. For example, do not place a cold dish directly into a hot oven.
Minor Repairs
For small scratches or chips, you can use a compatible ceramic touch-up paint to minimize their appearance. If a piece breaks, use a specialized ceramic adhesive to glue the pieces back together.
